Blaydon is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It is a safe seat for the Labour Party.

It comprises the towns of Blaydon, Whickham, Ryton, Birtley and surrounding villages in the periphery of the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead.
Following their review of parliamentary representation in Tyne and Wear, the Boundary Commission for England has created a modified Blaydon constituency to be fought at the 2010 general election, from the following electoral wards;
The current MP is David Anderson, first elected in 2005.
